What is Dialysis?

At Zheen International Hospital, dialysis is performed using a cutting-edge, semi-permeable membrane to purify the blood, effectively replicating the natural function of the kidneys. Our Dialysis Services

Hemodialysis
The most common type of dialysis, hemodialysis uses a dialyzer (artificial kidney) and dialysate (special fluid) to filter waste and excess fluids from the blood. Blood is removed from the body, filtered by a machine, and returned safely.

Hemodiafiltration (HDF)
HDF combines the benefits of hemodialysis and hemofiltration, using larger volumes of replacement fluid for improved removal of uremic toxins. This method may also help with anemia correction, reducing inflammation and oxidative stress, and studies suggest better patient survival outcomes.

Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
CRRT is a specialized treatment for critically ill patients, providing continuous blood purification. It combines the benefits of hemodialysis and hemofiltration, offering gentle and effective toxin removal over extended periods, making it suitable for patients in intensive care.

Therapeutic Plasma Exchange

Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE) is a medical procedure in which a patient’s blood plasma is removed and replaced with a substitute (such as albumin or donor plasma).
It is used to treat diseases in which harmful substances are present in the plasma—such as autoantibodies, immune complexes, or toxins.

Peritoneal Dialysis

A peritoneal dialysis (PD) service provides care for patients who use peritoneal dialysis—a home-based kidney replacement therapy where the lining of the abdomen (peritoneum) acts as a natural filter to remove waste and excess fluid.
